Bradford Central CLLD LAG Member Recruitment

Bradford Council, Carlisle Business Centre, Cnet, CABAD and the Bradford Central Local Action Group (LAG) have been successful in their ESIF application to deliver the CLLD Strategy for the area. This will bring up to £6 million to support the regeneration of the Manningham, City and Great Horton wards, focusing on the 20% most deprived areas within these wards, through developing a 5-year strategy and overseeing activity that creates a healthy and resilient local economy.

The Bradford Central CLLD LAG will play a key role in ensuring the programme is delivered effectively.  The LAG comprises residents, business people, and voluntary and public sector workers from across the 3 wards and has been working hard with partners over the last 2 years to secure resources for the area.

Now resources have been secured, work will start in earnest. The LAG is currently seeking to fill vacancies in its membership. There are currently 5 vacancies; 3 business people and 2 residents. The LAG is particularly keen to hear from people from Great Horton.  Individual residents wishing to be a member of the LAG must live or volunteer in the Bradford CLLD area.  Businesses wishing to be involved must have their head office / main base in the area.

Everyone wishing to be a member must be willing to be an ambassador for the Bradford CLLD area, sign and adhere to the LAG Code of Conduct.

Bradford Receives £11m Business Funding Boost

Two areas within the Bradford district have been awarded more than £5.4m in matched EU funding via the Leeds City Region European Structural Investment Fund.

The funding is designed to support activity that addresses local needs and opportunities over the next five years.

It will lead to Community Led Local Development (CLLD) programmes being set up in Bradford to cover the City, Great Horton and Manningham wards and in Keighley to cover the Keighley East, Keighley West and Keighley Central wards.

The Bradford Central CLLD area has been granted £1.5m European Regional Development Funding (ERDF) from the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and £1.5m European Social Funding from the Department for Work and Pensions, which matched with local funding has the potential to deliver a £6m programme.
